Parkland KIDSfirst

Parkland KIDSfirst is offers health services for your children 18 and younger. Parkland’s CHIP Perinatal services offers health care for pregnant women and newborn babies.

The hospitals in the Parkland KIDSfirst network include Parkland Hospital and Children’s Medical Center, and many more. Our network of doctors includes pediatricians and specialists. We also have doctors who can give you routine checkups and immunizations to keep you healthy. Parkland KIDSfirst also includes several local health centers that offer health services near your home.

With Parkland KIDSfirst, you and your child can go to health education classes to learn how to treat certain medical conditions, such as diabetes and asthma.

Perinate & Newborn Services

If you are pregnant, a Texas resident, you do not have insurance, and you cannot get Medicaid, you may be able to get perinatal coverage from CHIP. This coverage is for your unborn baby. It covers your labor with delivery and your baby’s health and medical services for its first months of life.

CHIP Copayments

Parkland KIDSfirst members copayments
CHIP copayments are based on the family income. You make copayments for medical services or prescription drugs to the health care provider when you get service. There are no copayments for preventive services such as well-child or well-baby visits or for immunizations (shots).

There are no co-pays for services covered by Parkland CHIP Perinate Newborn.

We have special services for people who have trouble reading, hearing, seeing, or speak a language other than English or Spanish. You can ask for the Member Handbook in audio, other languages, Braille or larger print. If you need an audiocassette or CD, we will mail it to you.
